Students from Japan's University of Tsukuba Visit PIDC for Sustainability Insights

On February 4, a delegation of approximately 20 graduate students from the University of Tsukuba, led by Professor Yabar Mostacero Helmut Friedrich, visited PIDC for a comprehensive technical exchange. Facilitated by Feng Chia University, the visit provided international students with valuable insights into sustainability and innovative solutions in the plastics industry.

The discussions focused on Taiwan’s high plastic waste recycling rate, biodegradable material verification technologies, and PIDC’s ESG services and implementation cases. Through these in-depth exchanges, the students gained a deeper understanding of how cutting-edge innovations drive sustainability efforts.

As part of the visit, the delegation explored the Sustainable Materials Library, where they were introduced to 5-7 trending sustainable materials. Additionally, they were presented with the exhibition theme The Key to the Greenhouse, which highlights the critical concepts of mitigation and adaptation in addressing climate change. The exhibits showcased the industry's proactive efforts and developments in sustainability.

By the end of the visit, the students left with new perspectives on sustainable materials and environmental solutions. This exchange fostered meaningful discussions between academia and industry, contributing to a shared vision of advancing sustainability. PIDC looks forward to future collaborations that continue to drive progress in this important field.
